Once Bitten, Twice Shy
You hurt me. You hurt me bad. I had to stay home from work, and you know how much I hate having to call in.
And yeah, that makes me cautious. I haven’t seen you since that day. Well, that’s not true. I see you every time I go to the grocery store. I’ve seen you while I was out at restaurants.
But I haven’t fallen for you. I haven’t taken you home again.
That’s right, Seafood. It’s going to be a while before I can trust you again.
I…I’ve been seeing other food.
Beef was really there for me when I needed him. And Chicken – chicken and I have had a lot of fun lately. It’s been nice, not worrying about a long-term relationship.
Sure. I’m on the rebound. And don’t think it doesn’t hurt every time I see you, nestled in your garlic butter sauce.
Sure, I’m tempted.
But then I remember how you’ve hurt me in the past – not once, not twice, but many times. I always forgive you, and things are great for a while. I mean, we’ve had some great times together. Remember that incredible scampi? Or the time we spent together at the Japanese Hibachi?
But you always get me in the end, don’t you? I mean, I learned early to avoid Sushi – you have a tendancy to get mean when we do sushi. I know this.
But I just can’t take it any more! We’re through!
I’ve got a good, healthy relationship now. I’ve even started inviting a few vegetables over from time to time. Remember how we used to make fun of Broccoli? Turns out he’s a pretty cool guy. We’ve always been friends with Carrot and Corn, but lately they’ve been bringing Onion and Green Pepper over for cards on Saturday night.
I just wanted to say that it’s over between us, Seafood. Until you clean up your act, I won’t fall for your groveling any more. You’re no good for me. It’s just not meant to be.

You just might have an allergy; I would strongly recommend you see an allergist. My daughter-in-law knew she was allergic to shellfish (she’d make my son brush his teeth after eating shrimp and before he kissed her), but didn’t realize HOW allergic till she went to an allergist.
Now, she carries an EpiPen because restaurants make mistakes. A single smidgen of shrimp or oyster could kill her in minutes. When we go out for dinner, no one orders shrimp; and rarely, seafood.
Be careful, Tami!
Yes, brocolli, but what about… GREEN BEANS!!?!?!
