Hipposketches
Posted under: Some new friends are having a baby (is there something in the water?).
When I asked them to pick a cute animal for some baby gift art, they chose hippos.
Despite my original bogglement at the animal choice, I did a set of hippo sketch pages and promptly fell in love with their curvy, adorable bodies.

You can see a tiny hint of my next project peeking over the pink hippo’s shoulder. Whups!

I love LOVE how you do their wrinkly little knees…and the fold of skin on the pink one’s hind legs is the BEST THING EVER.
I also love the sketch of the hippo floating tied to a balloon. To me, he looks like “oh ho hum, just another lazy balloon floating day~~”
