Photoblog: A Box From Germany
It came, it came! A box from Iris Harper in Germany! We did a care package exchange and hers arrived today!
It … ah … wasn’t in the best condition. Way to go, post office. Even Ninners agrees that it probably didn’t look like that when it was sent.
Regardless of box condition, the contents were (with the exception of one slightly crushed bar of chocolate) in marvelous shape! Warden Ninners (nothing gets in or out of this house without a thorough inspection from the warden) approves.
And here it all is, pulled out so it can be properly admired!
Contents:
- One box of slightly licorice-scented orange chai tea.
- Four packets of … um … purple chai tea. *grins* I don’t speak German, so I’ll differentiate based on package coloring! It smells less licorice-y, if that helps.
- Two packets of what looks to be a breakfast tea.
- Four (count ‘em FOUR) bars of chocolate! Orange, mango, dark, and almond. The almond looks sinfully yummy.
- One leather alligator clamp dog that looks startlingly like my old dog, Kodi. Iris didn’t know Kodi, so I’m assuming she sent him simply because he’s adorable and functional (my favorite combo!)
- And one slightly bashful and meepishly adorable stuffed turtle keyring.
SO AWESOME.
I am making some of the chai tea tonight! *sparkles*
And the dog is going to work with me, where he’ll hold tea packets for my amusement. Good dog. *pats*
THANK YOU, IRIS!! <3<3

Eeeeeh! I am so glad you like them!
As a random aside, the dog is actually from Bulgaria, and handmade. So the little bugger has traveled some way to the US, and glad to finally find a loving home *smiles*
And your package was in MUCH better condition when it arrived. This one looks like it got chewed on by starving alligators…
As for the teas:
Orange box: Sweet Chai, mild and my favourite, works great with soymilk in my opinion.
Purple packages: Classic black Chai, also works nicely with soymilk, a bit stronger taste.
Green packages: Good Morning tea, a herbal mixture.
Oh, and I have saved one very special chocolate for the next exchange! It is the peppermint brother of the almond one… just to make sure there is a next exchange. *winks*

Hm … “Ninners” … is that the cat’s actual name or short for something else?

@Iris
oooh, thank you! The little dog is happily watching me as we speak. I think if he could wag his tail, he would.
The chais were wonderful! You’re right, I like the orange packet of chai slightly more than the purple, though both are marvelous! (I had two last night and the hubby had one).
Oh, another exchange? That would be lovely!
We tried all of the chocolates. The almond one was DIVINE – the perfect hint of salt along with the nuts! The orange was another big favorite. Very smooth and creamy. I love the plain dark chocolate, but it was too bitter for Mr. Moore.
Hee! I’ll have to start collecting goodies for the next exchange!
@Grimmtooth
That poor cat has more names than he knows what to do with. His official name is Tuxedo Squeakerpants McGee, but his real name is Ninja and the name we call him by most often is Ninners. Sometimes it’s Ninnerneens. He answers to all of them. =]

@Tami – ah. We used to have a tuxedo cat called “Ninnian” who we nicked “Ninny”, so it kinda jumped out at me. I couldn’t tell if this one was a tux or not. That would have been eerie if there were multiple ‘hits’ on the coincidence-o-meter. :)

@Grimmtooth
That would indeed have been a coincidence! This fellow’s a tuxedo, but only barely – bow tie on his chest, chevron on his belly, and tip of his tail, otherwise black. =]
