Recent Art > Koala and Platypus
Posted under: Time to go back and gather up all the art I’ve done since the last art post here. I haven’t been coloring anything, but I’ve been having a lot of fun just inking and taking random requests for subject matter from twitter.
@Mallara was not the only person to request a koala bear (I think the other was @grimmtooth) but they turned out to be so much fun to draw that I did two.
After that, Tristina Wright pounced on a random tweet of mine and together we developed Elmer the platypus. He likes to wear ties but he’s very nervous when he has to speak in public.
Awwwww, yay, Elmer!! I love him so much! I just want to snuggle him…

Okay, so after much digging through my e-mail, I found a picture of the graduation card I made for a friend who loves platypuses (platypi? lol).

Gregory and Elmer should totally be friends. There’s a whole comic inside with graduation “tips” as written by a platypus. I wish I could remember them all D:

The koalas are adorable, but I really love the platypus.
Kinda random… when will you post up the elephant wino from our hilarious twitter conversation…hmm that was a couple months ago, now, wasn’t it? >.>

Hah! Thank you lady, that’s actually a huge compliment! I always feel like my handwritten/drawn text stuff is well, not so great, so yes, thank you very much indeed! <3
In middle school, I remember all the girls used to practice "drawing" things like "I <3 Josh" all over their notebooks…it was like a cult, and if you didn't have cutesy text all over everything, you were WEIRD. I certainly didn't want to be weird, hehe :P

I totally remember those days. And I sucked at cutesy text like you would not believe. If you think koala #1′s ears are lopsided up there, you should SEE when I try to make bubble text.
I think your graphic text is awesome. Fun, readable, clean – but not “mechanical” or boring. I lurve it.
